Getting to St Privat du Dragon
To get to the Auvergne and the Farmhouse, the best entry point is Clermont-Ferrand, the biggest city in the region. You can take a train from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand, or you can fly into Clermont-Ferrand and drive from there. If you purchase train tickets online, we recommend you print them at home – the other available options can be trickier than they seem.
The Farmhouse is remote enough that you will need to have a car during your stay. There are no shops in the village (though there is a bakery truck that comes around twice a week), so you will need a car to buy groceries at the very least.
If you are not driving your own car, the easiest places to rent from are in Clermont-Ferrand. There are car rental agencies near the train station there or at the airport. There are also other car rental agencies in town, and it shouldn’t cost more than 20 euros to take a taxi from the station or the airport to another car rental agency.
