Tall Bedroom Desk
The Farmhouse is a rustic but comfortable house in a small farming village, so you can expect to see cows and sheep in the neighbouring fields, not to mention a huge variety of flora and (sometimes astonishing!) fauna. Far from the exclusive villa rentals in the south of France, the Farmhouse offers its guests an authentic immersion experience in the French countryside, in all its natural beauty, and a return to basics with the simpler things in life. As one of our guests commented, “Rental accommodation is too often either too polished and over decorated or unimaginative and utilitarian. We don’t want a swimming pool; just a pleasant place to sit outside for meals and reading books. Your house strikes just the right note for our liking; all the necessary comforts are here and we love the simple furnishings and fittings.”
The front door leads directly into the rustic Farmhouse kitchen, which is well-equipped for all your culinary activities, including eating around the table that seats four comfortably, and up to six, if you don’t mind getting cosy. Up three steps from the kitchen is the Tall Bedroom – so named for its high vaulted ceiling with original wooden log beams – where there is a large double bed and a desk.
On the next floor landing there is a desk next to a window overlooking the valley. This floor also has the bathroom with a shower and the East Bedroom with a large double bed and more lovely views.
The sitting room is found in the attic and is a cosy place to curl up and read one of the many books in the library, watch DVDs, play games or just take a nap. The sectional sofa folds out into a double bed and there are also two bunk beds to provide more sleeping arrangements.
Out in the garden, there is a private little cabin with a small double bed (or big single) – the perfect place to camp out in the summer! The garden itself has a terrace with a large table (seats 10-12) and parasol, gas barbeque, and the most wonderful views of the valley below.
